About

Meet Mile

Permanent makeup artist in Rockaway, NJ

In micropigmentation you are not buying a technique. You are trusting the person holding the needle. Here is who that is, and how I work.

The story

How I got here

I never saw myself working someone else’s hours.

In 2021 I got pregnant, and my daughter is the reason I stopped thinking about it and started building something. I wanted to watch her grow up. I didn’t want to spend my best hours working for someone else while another person raised her.

For months I wrote down everything I was good at, looking for the thing I could build a life around. Then one morning I was looking at my own brows in the mirror and it clicked: nobody around here was doing professional brow design. I found a teacher, signed up, and from day one I knew this was it.

That was five years and about 1,200 clients ago.

Why Mile

Three things I do differently

  1. I mix your color myself.

Most artists buy brown premixed. I build every color from primaries, reading your undertone first, because that’s what decides whether your brows stay warm and natural or turn gray or red as they fade. When someone’s brows change color a year later, this is almost always why.

  2. The design comes before anything else.

I measure your face with a ruler and map the shape to your features. No two clients get the same design, because no two faces are the same. You approve it in the mirror before I start. If you’re not sure yet, the consultation is free and there’s no commitment.

  3. I’m still there after you leave.

Your aftercare kit is included in the price. One week later I message you to see how you’re healing, because the first ten days decide how the final result looks.

A student story

The student who wasn’t supposed to be able to do this

One of my students has three fingers on her working hand. This technique normally takes four.

We found another way. She wanted to quit more than once and I told her every time that she could do it. She finished. Today she does beautiful brows, and every time she sends me a photo of her work I still can’t get over it.

That’s the part of this job nobody sees on Instagram.

Hygiene

How I keep you safe

Every single-use item is thrown out after you, even if it looks clean. Needles go into a sharps container collected by a licensed service. My machine and my work surface are covered with a plastic barrier that’s replaced for every client, and everything is disinfected with Cavicide before and after. I wear gloves and a mask the whole time.

What I work with. Permablend, Alice Cosmetics and Evenflo Colours pigments, Epix anesthesia, Vertix and Kwadron needles, and a Mini Flux machine.

Your needle is opened in front of you. Never before.
