The technique
What permanent eyeliner is
A defined line along the lid, the same effect as a liquid liner, applied once. You choose whether it finishes clean or carries a small wing. If your eyes are hooded, the wing is what lifts the look.
Is it right for you?
Who it is for, and who it is not
Who it's for
- You do your eyes every single morning and want that time back
- You work out, swim or live somewhere humid and your liner never survives the day
- You have hooded eyes and want them lifted
- You love a liner but your eyesight or a shaky hand makes it a fight every morning
Who it isn't for
- Active eye infections such as conjunctivitis, blepharitis or a stye
- Eyes that irritate easily, or severe dry eye
- Very visible veins on the lid, or blood thinners
Medical and timing details
I’ll need to reschedule you if you have an active eye infection (conjunctivitis, blepharitis or a stye), or if your eyes irritate easily or you have severe dry eye. Glaucoma and cataracts need written clearance from your ophthalmologist, and recent eye surgery needs your doctor’s go-ahead on timing.
I also can’t work on very visible veins on the lid, or on anyone taking blood thinners.

Before and after
Prep and aftercare
The week before and the day of
- No lash extensions. Come with your natural lashes, no adhesive
- No lash lift or perm right before
- No peels, laser or aggressive treatments around the eyes
- Skip skincare products around the eye area
The day of: come with no eye makeup at all (no liner, shadow or mascara), no leftover lash glue, and clean, calm lids. No alcohol beforehand. If you wear contacts, take them out before we start and bring your glasses. Your eyes may water or feel sensitive afterward.
Healing
First 24 hours. Keep the area clean and dry. Do not touch, rub or scratch your lids. No eye makeup, no creams or oils other than what I give you. Avoid heavy sweating, hard exercise and hot environments. Skip contacts while your eyes feel irritated and wear your glasses until you are comfortable.
First 7 days. Clean the lash line with an alcohol-free wipe or damp cotton and apply the vitamin cream in a thin layer, 3 times a day. Do not pull off the small flakes or scabs; let them come away on their own. No pools, hot tubs, saunas or steam rooms. Keep very hot water off your eyes. No facials or treatments near the area until it is fully healed.

FAQ
Questions I get asked every week
Does it hurt?
We use numbing cream, and most clients tell me afterward that it was nothing like what they expected. If you’re especially sensitive to pain you may find it uncomfortable at moments, but it isn’t unbearable.
Will it look natural, or will people be able to tell?
This is the fear I hear most, and it’s a fair one. It comes down to two things: the design and the color. I measure the shape to your face instead of applying one template to everyone, and I mix your pigment for your undertone.
How long does it last?
Eyeliner and lash line enhancement last 3 to 5 years. Your aftercare during the first ten days affects this more than anything else.
Why do you cost more than the place down the street?
There are a lot of people working without a license out of their homes around here. I don’t judge them, I started out too, and that’s usually where you are when you’re learning. What I can tell you is that a real part of my work is fixing permanent makeup done somewhere cheaper. Removal is expensive and slow. The price difference buys you a licensed, insured artist, pigments and needles I chose on quality rather than cost, a design built for your face, and someone who actually listens to what you want before touching your skin.
What if I’m not sure what I want?
Book a consultation. It’s free, there’s no obligation, and I’ll show you what each technique would look like on you and answer everything. Plenty of people come in for that and book weeks later. Consultations are normally in the studio. If you’re coming from further out (Elizabeth, Fort Lee, North Bergen, West New York) we can do it by video instead.
